This sort of news suprises me.I mean how long does it take to get an already pretty fit professional athlete who isn't injured up to speed??

I guess at the moment we can afford to take our time but it still baffles me slightly that he isn't even considered fit enough for the bench.

Is he unfit though?

Notice Pellers says only Negredo is not fit to play

My theory is he is fit but not yet integrated into our footballing style of play yet

Good point mate.....I guess no harm done if we winning....looking forward to seeing what 32mil defender looks like! ;)

Re: Mangala signs!

After the international break I would expect him to be fully up and running and in the team. Arsenal away, Munich away, Chelsea at home, only decision does he make his debut at the Gooners or away in Munich.

This is the one reason why I was hoping for him to start v Stoke. There would have been a good possibility then f him starting those three games but I think Pellers will play it safe and go with Dimicheles.

Having said that, stranger things have happened (Nasty debut v Madrid under Mancini of all people)

Re: Mangala signs!

With the international break coming up it appears very likely that he will not be risked due to lack of game time for three of our most important games of the season in the space of eight days. Fucks me right off that we paid the premium we did and were made to wait so long.

I've no qualms with MDM but it's disappointing that our most expensive purchase since Sergio is likely to miss the first 7 games of the season because of delays in getting the deal finalised.

Re: Mangala signs!

Porto and Malaga played a H&H vs each other in the Spring CL knockout phase while Pelle was with Malaga. Mangala was huge for Porto. Pelle knows what he has and how to handle him. In good time ...

Re: Mangala signs!

Sorry to bring this back up, but I assume he will soon get his debut but how many of us will trust him playing his first couple of matches vs title rivals Chelsea and Arsenal?? Im not saying he is a bad player, but we have no idea how his partnership with Vinnie will work and this could lead to errors in defense making us drop more points.

he has to play someday. we didn't pay £32 million him to sit on the bench. when he is fully fit he will play I assume

Re: Mangala signs!

where is the lazy fooker?

Sat on the bench through the world cup, went on holiday and now seeing less action than Glauber Berti ever did.

Re: Mangala signs!

Certainly not the most ideal that the first time he plays next to Kompany will be a huge game and for me all next 3 games are huge. Cant really lose any of the 3.

But Demichelis, Kompany could just get injured any moment, maybe with their international team/trainings/games so we better get Mangala up to speed very fast.

Have a feeling Pelle trusts Demichelis as much that Mangala will be more of a third CB for us this season.
