Mangala was one of only 2 outfield players not given a single minute over the two friendlies (the other a 30-year-old Lille midfielder). Something is up there, especially when a nothing special player like Mathieu comes out of international wilderness and is given 90 minutes (coincidentally right after he joins Barca from Valencia). And Debuchy hasn't proven he is better than Sagna at all - Sagna was better in the Premier League last season and Arsenal wanted to keep him rather than replace him.

Why does there always have to be n agenda the manager is entitled to think he has better players than mangala

So you think it makes perfect sense and is completely normal that a player is picked for the World Cup squad and for two friendlies but doesnt get any minutes AT ALL? Mathieu (as pointed out) came from nowhere, joined a big team and is now suddenly their 1st/2nd choice CB.

Mangala obviously has masses of talent and potential otherwise we wouldnt have thrown 32M at Porto for him. Somethings definitely up.

Like people think there's an agenda against Nasri. The simple matter of fact is he's not good enough for the French team.

Funniest comment I've read on Bluemoon for a while. Not only are France seriously short on playmakers (very few named in their last squad), especially after Ribery's retirement, several that they do have are inferior and play at a lower level than Nasri - like Valbuena (Dynamo Moscow) and Cabella (Newcastle). Only Griezmann compares to Nasri. Nasri shouldn't just be in France's squad, he should be in their first 11, and will be next time they have a new coach.

Well watched him against us and at villa park the week after. Trying to influence the games all though by no means at his best. Looked better than being a passenger all game looking for one twos with yaya, rather than carrying the ball and trying to commit defenders. Which he is capable of doing is has to be said.

You mean Cabella did a lot of parlour tricks without influencing the game much. Here's an actual fact: Nasri had the joint most key passes with Hazard last season. His contributions don't often seem as obvious as Silva's, but they are there. He is a very clever player and one of the best at ball retention that I've seen. I will be the first to admit he isn't the most consistent (and expect him to go MIA against Arsenal when the boos start), but he is a supremely talented player who is one of the numerous reasons we have won trophies in recent years. And is certainly good enough for a France squad bereft of great playmakers.

It has to be a major concern for us that Deschamps failed to give him a single minute of game time. It's almost like he is exacting revenge on a City player because he is still cheesed off with Nasri. Guilt by association if you like.

I say it's a major concern because of our games in the next week. He might be the type of player who can step straight back in even though he hasn't played in ages. All I know is that there has to be a risk for us under these circumstances, and certainly Deschamps hasn't helped the cause at all.

Re: Mangala signs!

The people complaining about him not getting game time would be the same people crying out if he does get game time as there's a risk he'd get injured - see the reaction to the Kompany, Zabba and Jovetic threads the last week.

Let's just relax. He's fine, we're fine. He'll play when he'll play.

"all is for the best in the best of all possible worlds"
how could one disagree?
