Mangala was one of only 2 outfield players not given a single minute over the two friendlies (the other a 30-year-old Lille midfielder). Something is up there, especially when a nothing special player like Mathieu comes out of international wilderness and is given 90 minutes (coincidentally right after he joins Barca from Valencia). And Debuchy hasn't proven he is better than Sagna at all - Sagna was better in the Premier League last season and Arsenal wanted to keep him rather than replace him.

Why does there always have to be n agenda the manager is entitled to think he has better players than mangala
Like people think there's an agenda against Nasri. The simple matter of fact is he's not good enough for the French team.

You're clueless. On very serious level.

Re: Mangala signs!

Maybe Pellegrini doesn't rate him as highly as demichelis? Pellers doesn't decide who we buy, although it's understood he gives a yay or neigh. Could be we have to wait for an injury before we see mangala.
Just throwing another scenario out there.

Re: Mangala signs!

I think it's simply because MD is playing well. CB partnership is just something you don't want to change without a very good reason. It's no rush anyway, MD is not showing any overt signs of declining so just keep it stable at the back is our priority.

Some sense finally.

Re: Mangala signs!

It's not because Pellers thinks other players are better its purely that he wishes to introduce Eli slowly slowly into the most intense and frenetic league in the world. After the Chelski game we will see much more of him and mark my word he will become a star and stalwart for years to come.

Re: Mangala signs!

Remember 2 years ago when Nastasic made his debut at the Bernabéu. I think he'd only trained once with the team and went straight into the first XI vs Ronaldo, Benzema, Di Maria etc and he had a really good game.

Anyway right now it's looking like Mangala is more likely to get his chance through injury. Big week for the team and for Vinny to see if he holds up.
