Would he improve if we had a more defensive set up?
I don't think any of our defenders have really flourished under Pellegrini, neither has Joe for that matter.

Odd as it will seem, I'm not even a fan of his really, I just hate the blame culture we have, it pisses me off.

I can only assume that each and every one of those having a go at him are particularly good in their chosen jobs, they must be!

I make mistakes and will hopefully learn from them at some point, though my attempting to post sense in this particular sub-forum seems futile and therefore dismisses that hope.

Agreed. Perhaps he should have fallen from the push. Am sure there FB felt a push from Navas later and of course made sure he got the decision

At the end of the day his job was to stop the league's in form striker partnership from scoring, and he did that. Just like at Leicester.

It's not pretty, it can be heart-attack inducing, but he's getting the job done.

A defending structure consisting of Yaya and Kolarov around him is far from optimal - any CB would struggle with that. An adequately organized team will see him much improved I think.

He'd improve if he wasn't constantly covering 2 positions on the pitch, what we need is better left full backs, so that he can focus on his job.
