Honestly I expected this guy to just fade away like so many of our poor expensive signings.

He's proving me wrong. He looks more and more like the £38m defender we bought. Otamendi has a fight on his hands.

Doubt any other defenders this season will be physically bullying Lukaku. Seemed to almost man mark him, following him out of defence and stopping them passing it into him. Lost count of the number of interceptions he made on passes meant for Lukaku

Another solid performance. The defensive line augmented with Navas and Sterling looks impenetrable. Mangala has a great future.

Mangala has been incredible so far this season. It really appears that he's playing with a chip on his shoulder after how much the media criticized him last season.

Magnificent today. 2nd only to Silva for MOTM. He kept Lukaku in his box. Interestingly, Kompany and Lukaku seemed to swap roles from the Chelsea game. With Kompany cleaning up today.
