Another solid performance from him, seems to be cutting out the rash decisions which happened with him at times last season, him and kompany are looking fantastic at the moment....

stupid challenge to get booked and put us in a bad position, also a few nervy moments just following the ball, leaving Kompany to make last ditch challenges/interceptions.

On the whole though, much improved and hopefully he can kick on after these 3 clean sheets

I thought he started well but then started getting too close to Lukaku. His booking was stupid and when Fernandinho had to bring down Cleverly Mangala didn't need to be that far up field to challenge Lukaku for that header (whether he was actually fouled and it not given or not).

Second half, he was taking a step back, reading the situation. He wasn't getting sucked in by Lukaku and was much better for it.

Played really well second half and actually well for a fair bit of the first half. He will have learnt a lot today from what he saw himself succeed in doing in the second half. Especially after how poor he was at Everton last season when Lukaku dominated him.

I thought Eli was excellent again today, apart from the rash tackle that led to his booking and a dangerous free-kick for Everton.

Gargoyle Gary noted in the second half that Lukaku had moved over to Mangala's side. "Something could happen now," he suggested and I'm sure he was expecting Lukaku to get more chances against Eli. He couldn't have been more wrong; Eliaquim was excellent all match.

Nicolas Otamendi has a fight on his hands to force his way into the starting XI while VK and EM are in such fine form, though he may get a place on the bench as cover for Bacary Sagna at right-back.

He's clearly getting to grips with this premier league. He handled Lukaku very well today.

I'm starting to think that we've made a deliberate decision to become more aggressive with the tackling, prepared to take the risk that we will concede dangerous free kicks and pick up bookings, perhaps a few red cards.

Vinny's reaction to being booked for that tackle on Costa last week was very cool. The commentators called that a needless booking but Vinny didnt seem remotely bothered. As if he was intent on giving Costa a message.

Mangala, Kompany and Fernandhino are collecting bookings that look a tad cynical. And I can't say that I'm disappointed with them.
