Player Topic: Eliaquim Mangala (2015/16)

Our most important player this season. His pace bails both YaYa and Kolarov out - making them both look competent.
 
Mangala is quick but has poor positional sense. Without an experienced defender by his side, he will look like shit.
 
Would probably go with Mangala and MDM today as last season they played well together and MDM seems to play bette alongside him.
 
Surprised it's not been mentioned yet but it was good having this lad back today. Kompany's been a miss but this guy had a huge part to play in our flawless defensive record at the start of the season.

Really rate him highly.
 
Starting to prove why we paid so much money. Must have cleaned up Ottamendi's mess 3 or 4 times
 
I reckon after a few more games Mangala and Otamendi will be as good a partnership as Mangala and Kompany. The main problem with all the combinations is that they have no time to play together before injury disrupts their rhythm.
 
Gets better and more convincing each game. Don't know what he was thinking about for the tackle that got him booked. Totally unnecessary. He'll learn, though. I still think back to the solidity of Kompany and Joleoninho gave us in Jole's first season. Think Kompers and Mangler can reprise that partnership. He's a big bugger all right, and quick. There's been plenty of big buggers playing CB in the PL but big and quick puts him in a select group.
