Did guys like Delph and Boney get injured at their previous clubs ?
Last season Delph missed 8 games near the start of the season, the previous season only 2.
Bony missed 3 games last season with a sprained ankle and 3 games the season before with a hamstring injury.
Personally I suspect Bony has recently been granted "compassionate leave" due to a close family bereavement. He lost his mum. As fans we need to give Wilfried extra support, during this difficult time.

Didn't know that about Wilfred, may be a huge factor as to why his form has dipped. I saw on Goal that Delph is back in training and that he's being considered touch and go for the Bournemouth game, though I imagine Palace at home in the cup is his most likely bet for a return to action.

Yeah, I presume he'll start against Palace, barring any further setbacks. The Bournemouth game will come too soon, and there is no way he'll start against either Sevilla or United given the magnitude of the games and the length of time he's been out.

He told my lad on Saturday he wouldn't be back for Bournemouth.

Given that we have Fernandinho and Fernando working well in tandem, and the latter himself has only just come back into the team, I'd be in no rush to bring Delph back early. I'd look towards the end of October (Norwich at home) as a good time to bleed him in again. December is the hard month, especially at the end with so many games crammed together, and after the CL matches are over, so that's the time when we'll really benefit from his energy and drive.

What a lot of people don't get is that we play significantly more games than Swansea and Villa do each season. The training will be more intense and they will face tougher opposition on a more regular basis - with that you'd obviously expect a higher number of injuries.

Delph will come back fighting, and at £8m he's going to be one of our greatest 'value for money' signing in recent history.

Bony, on the other hand, doesn't look up to it to me. I hope that changes, but I said before we signed him that there was a difference between being the main man at Swansea and having everything aimed towards him scoring goals is completely different to becoming a squad player in a team with a different system. He needs to lose weight, that should speed him up and reduce the amount of time he's out injured, until he loses half a stone I can't see him cementing a place in the starting 11.

this is a massive myth!! the guy doesn't have an ounce of fat on him. There was a game he played (possibly juve) where the camera zoomed on him and you could see he was ripped through his shirt. He looks quite quick on the move, hes got great control and touch, he just needs to get his confidence back and we will see a 20 goal a season striker.

Agree with this. I think he is a good fit with our playing style and will link up with our front 4 really well. I think he will be at least on the bench for the Palace game and hopefully kick on from there.

anyone know if he's fit for wednesday? With fernandinho suspended would be the perfect time for him to get a game
