Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

To say it is blown out of proportion would be an understatement...

Jesus...What's going on ?

Of substance? Nothing.

Mate if the Daily Fail is right this might not be something we brush off. Whats the penalties for signing someone for less than a year?

I'm confused why this is so sloppy. The club started with "he's coming from NYCFC on loan", had to walk that back to "the contract ran until Dec 31" and might have to revise it for a third time so we don't fall afoul of the league rules.

Even if we did nothing wrong and everything 100% by the book it looks ridiculously bad and gives the media a cudgel to beat us with

Then I'll run across the Etihad stark bollocked naked against arsenal. Go right up to Wenger and dangle my bollocks in his face whilst apologising for us ruining football... I've a feeling it won't come to that.

Looks like your willy might be safe for the time being.

"The Premier League statement is correct but was a very specific, legal phrasing. Might seem confusing to laymen like us but was agreed by PL lawyers and is right."

Still don't understand why the club hasn't figured out how to communicate about this. All the noise seems to be caused by the club not being clear - and some groups in the media looking to twist things round, surprise surprise. But you'd think Soriano and company would know that every word they say is under a microscope so they'd better get it right straight away.

I bet Garry Cook is thinking 'thank fuck they can't blame me over this'

I've no idea of the how's/ and why's which led to this point. I do know we've basically given a handful of journalists who are well know card carrying Rag cunts an open goal to tap in and they'll be all over it until they've eeked out every last bit of sensationalist gobbledegook they can. Herbert is the most recent of the gobshites calling it "humiliating" in his latest piece, along with Ducker, Ogden. McDonnell, Jackson and Ladyman who are behaving as though we've torn up the rules of football and are taking a shit on the top table, it's like a perfectly gift wrapped present for them.
We've done nothing wrong in the sense that no sanctions can be laid against us and no rules have been broken, but fuck me, I'd have thought with the collective business and football acumen that the club employ, incidents like this wouldn't be allowed to escalate the way they have.
Frank winning us the league is going to be a beautiful thing, I cant fucking wait.

ADUG policy on statements to the press (or anybody else for that matter) has been shaped by last years contrived FFP fine.
Seems to me that they have learnt (or been advised) that silence or vague statements lacking in detail are the only way to communicate their business deals after legally tying down every single legal issue.
Mr P. will not even admit that a certain Mr Bony is the player we are probably about to sign.

The media ran with that line but if you look at City's official statement from 6th August 2014 the word "loan" appears nowhere in the text.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2014/August/Lampard-joins-City" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/20 ... joins-City</a>

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Fuck me we're coming in for some shit in the media. It's like someone just declared 'open season' on slagging City off. 'Embarrassment', 'Reputation in Tatters', 'Misleading Supporters' and they're the nice ones!

The only response I can think of is 90 minutes of "Super Frankie Lampard" coming over loud and proud at Goodison tomorrow.

It's amazing how those Chelsea wankers think Lampard should have been grateful to them for dumping him and just sulked off abroad with his tail between his legs. The fact they let him go on a free, and that he chose to join the champions, is obviously eating them up more than we could ever have hoped.

Ogden and a couple of others have lost their minds over it.
