This is better. Since the Barca boys and Pellegrini took over we've been so professional in almost every aspect that it's become a little boring, this is much more fun!

Let's be honest. The club have mislead the fans on both sides of the atlantic and the press over this. Trivial or not, it's not the sort of thing we expect. Disappointing to say the least.

Mate if the Daily Fail is right this might not be something we brush off. Whats the penalties for signing someone for less than a year?

I'm confused why this is so sloppy. The club started with "he's coming from NYCFC on loan", had to walk that back to "the contract ran until Dec 31" and might have to revise it for a third time so we don't fall afoul of the league rules.

Even if we did nothing wrong and everything 100% by the book it looks ridiculously bad and gives the media a cudgel to beat us with

At best is seems to be the sort of administrative and communications cock-up that used to dog the club pre-ADUG. It's especially annoying that they couldn't get the "clarification" press release to be 100% accurate and had to correct it.

It's just not important to me who held his contract and for how long as long as we havent broken premier league rules.

That should be pretty easy to prove if we havent already (does the FA have to ok contracts before registration, if so theres no story).

We need to stop playing funny buggers with this though. The story will disappear as soon as we stop giving people excuses to keep talking about it. We've got no-one to blame but ourselves on this.

Clear statement, lay cards on table, admit to and apologise for mistakes, move onto more important issues.

And learn our lessons if the situation arises again.

The independent article is a bit of a wind up. We can't be trusted full stop it seems. No been following football news for a few weeks (just been watching the matches), and now I remember why..
