1. Statement on NYCFC website in July saying Lampard’s 2-yr deal started Aug 1,2014 was an error
2. Initial statement on City website that it was a loan was also an error
3. There was never a break clause in Lampard’s contract dated 31 December – his short-term contract with City only ran to Dec 31.
4: There was a head of terms commitment from Lampard to join NYCFC from Jan 1, 2015.
5. Any contract with NYCFC will now take effect from July 1, 2015.
6. PL statement is correct but was a very specific, legal phrasing

Just listened to 10 mins of H+J on TS discussing Lampard, one of them is a Chelsea fan, you could feel the bitterness and hatred towards us that we have got him, "City would never have caught us but for him", blah blah blah,he was nearly in tears, ha ha.

Seems fairly obvious to me that his contract would not start in August 2014 as it would then expire before the end of the 2016 MLS season.

Really is incredible how a few of the usual suspects are attempting to drag this brutally boring saga out as long as possible when it should be settled be now - Lampard stays, goes to MLS in July. McDonnell (the nasty red who penned the Pellegrini/Txiki/Soriano to Barca story today), Jackson, Ogden, Harris (Rob and Nick) and co. are clearly looking for dirt to use against MCFC despite the Premier League ruling everything legal, but will be well looked after at the Etihad next week if they're there on press duty. I wonder if old Baconface would have stood for this at the swamp.
