Had a really good game tonight. Rarely gives away possession and works his socks off. I don't think of him as an out and out winger. He's not a wizard with the ball at his feet and I actually think he's not as fast as it appears. I think he performs close to full ability nearly all the time for us. Can't ask for more than that.

He did plenty wrong. Six or seven times in the first half he made a poor pass and gave away possession to set up a Roma counter attack - in most games this season he's been the opposition's best player he's been that bad. Hopefully now that Merlin is back this will be the last we see of him barring a 10 minute cameo at the end of games we're winning

ah but ask ye this..... do you want 10 sort of chances or 7 sh*t ones and 3 gilt edge ones....

with ageuro playing, i know what i'd prefer.

He doesn't create three gilt edged ones, though. Milner is far more accurate and retains possession better, which is a huge part of our game. Now Silva's back, I'd move Milner to the right and Nasri down the left.

no, Milner retains possession no better than Navas, in fact Navas is pretty good at keeping hold of the ball. cutting back etc. in the last 4 or 5 games, Navas' crossing has been very good, and in general im a critic of his but recently he has been producing.
