Just about there...

Aguero hasn't been shit for over a season, so we can allow him a short period out of form

Again, there's nothing in that statement that say's Aguero is exempt from criticism. Just you twisting it to point score.

In the South Stand in the mid second half Navas was booed.

Now, we've all done something similar at some point. The last time for me was Richard Edghill. What does booing your own player achieve? Was Navas not trying? Did he hide? No to both and those are the two unforgivables out of the way. We have started to behave like slapped arses when we don't win. Even Barcelona lose the odd home game, but it shouldn't happen to us.

What I saw yesterday was a combination of a slow start by City compounded by injuries, bit of slack defending, a very competent opposition, dodgy refereeing and a striker in Aguero who is suffering from his summer exploits and looks in need of a rest. Shit happens and it's a minor blip on our road to glory.

Don't understand this absolute necessity for a boo boy victim that some need. Prat next to me needs one, he gives them all the same Christian name and middle name. Fucking Hell Dzeko and Fucking Hell Milner have left, long live Fucking Hell Navas!

Now I've calmed down abit from yesterday..
Navas frustrates the hell out of me, however for me he looks our biggest threat in most games.
He works his socks off, in attack and defence.
The frustration comes with his final ball and I honestly think he's over thinking it.
Whenever he gets himself into a crossing position, you see him looking for a player to pick out, which is all well and good, but sometimes he just needs to whip balls across the danger area.
Now take Kolarov, one of the best crossers of the ball in the league, when he has the time he will look up and try to pick the man out, but when he's under pressure he'll create a yard of space and whip a ball right into the danger area, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't.
But I'd much rather Navas do that, than end up kicking it right at the defender.
He's a quality player, just needs some fine tuning.
Now don't get me started on that fucking referee, bet the **** is still looking in the opposite direction.

This is an extract from a post I made in another thread that referenced a piece in the Fink Tank yesterday, they were looking at the subject of assists. In short, they did two things. The main one was extend the assist measure to include the last five touches before a goal and when applied to last season that had Hazard topping that chart but in second place was Yaya; Navas was in 10th place behind Silva, Aguero, Nasri and Milner in a top ten dominated by City players; Sterling was eleventh.

The other thing they came up with was what they called an attack contribution score, which adds to the extended assist with some measure of quality of contribution, and Navas came third in that behind Hazard and Oxlade-Chamberlain; that's third in the whole league last season!

Make of it what you want but maybe he gets so much game time because his coaches know something you don't.

puts a shift in but absolutely no end product, surely against teams like juve etc he would be worth a place but WHU (decent team by the way) at home really isn't the game for him. should be used as a squad payer IMO but pelli seems to rate him highly. if we are to be a true great team navas can be no more than a squad player

Forgot to post this yesterday.

MOTD on Navas' woeful crossing. Some comments from Ashton at the end about De Bruyne as well.

Cant believe this guy is still here. Its gotten to stage where he even clears attacks for the opposition. I thought missing open nets was enough.

At least he works hard though...

First time on here since the defeat yesterday and after the match every single person I heard was slagging him off it wasn't his fault we lost the game other players were just as bad it's just a shame this guy has no end product and why he still takes corners. Hope he can get some blues back on side and put in some good performances.
