Good to see that some posters are resisting the mob mentality prevalent on this thread. Navas is not the greatest crosser of a ball it is true. However, he is usually crossing the ball into a penalty area where there are 4 defenders against one attacker and who are, therefore 4 times as likely to intercept the ball before the attacker does. Secondly, if all those times he is accused of not looking before crossing it, he did look, he'd have to stop, turn round and play it backwards because our midfield is so far behind him. Most of his work is outstanding and I'm inclined to believe that he is just the latest figure to fulfil the need, an increasing number of people have, to apportion blame for any adversity.

Couldn't agree more

Navas is not a bad player at all but everything about him serves the purpose of a plan B and not a plan A. Roberts needs to be given a chance

Roberts only got 20 games in all competitions for Fulham last season, and not all of those were starts. What the hell makes you think he's going to be anywhere near the standard required for challenging at the top of the Premier League?

Nosense. Why did we sign him then or even not loan him out for that matter . It all begins with being given a chance look at Bellerin keeping Debuchy out of AFC team.

If there was every ant doubt that this guy is not good enough then Saturdays game said it all. The amount of final balls he missed was unreal, he should take a look at Lampard's cross for NYC this week.

Navas worked his arse off, never let his head drop and repeatedly went past his man. His timing was excellent. He lets all that down with poor delivery, the most apt example towards the end with the cross that ended up near the halfway line when we had Toure, Bony, Aguero and KDB in/around the box.
