may be it would be a good idea to give him a break for a month and let him play with the reserves and work on his weaknesses and give roberts a chance with senior team, he looks rattled with de bruyne arrival and it may help him clear his head

Forgot to post this yesterday.

MOTD on Navas' woeful crossing. Some comments from Ashton at the end about De Bruyne as well.

They're spot on, it seems like Navas is just closing his eyes when he's crossing the ball, he's not showing any intelligence at all when he crosses the ball atm. I would love to maybe see Roberts been given a go against Sunderland, he's been involved in the squad for most games, and a cup game against Sunderland is a good opportunity for him to start, especially with the current form of Navas.

Winger who extremely rarely scores a goal, can't shoot, cross or finish for shit. Can't believe why we didn't sell him after last season. (doubt there would be any takers anyway)

The lack of confidence argument is a load of rubbish. He has always been poor at crossing it has nothing to do with confidence and everything to do with ability and selection of cross to make.

He is not being scape goated. He has always been average and will remain so. The number of good games he has had can be counted on the fingers of one hand. I'm not faulting his effort but his quality is just not there

We
3 things:
  • Aguero was getting into positions to miss chances, Navas hit 2 City players from 18 crosses so gave the opposition the ball 16 times to start counter attacks
  • Aguero took a knock the week before and doesn't look 100% fit
  • Aguero hasn't been shit for over a season, so we can allow him a short period out of form
We are talking about the game v west ham nothing previously..

I said it in the game to my lad, but a 19 year old Peter Barnes in this team would have an absolute field day and would have been unplayable.

I'm now saying stuff my late father said to me back in the day (The 1970's), so I know it's just a sign of becoming an old bastard!! lol.

I just hope Patrick Roberts is given the opportunity before Navas stinks the place out so bad, he's sold and buy in a replacement.

Just watched the Bond film Casino Royale........the dealer of the cards is/was a dead ringer for Navas.----Maybe Navas should go back to that job.............
