He has become the scapegoat and is crucial to us playing at such a high tempo going forward as opposed to Nasri who just walks with the ball and always takes the safe option of passing it back to Yaya slowing everything down. If Navas just added end product to his game we would be putting 4 or 5 past teams every week. There was a perfect example yesterday when KDB put a brilliant through ball to him and Aguero was free for a tap in if he just crossed it first time, instead he took an extra touch and the chance was gone. I don't think he is at the level we need but has probably lost a lot of confidence due to constant groans from the fans. I think Sterling - De Bruyne - Silva - Aguero will be the front 4 when everyone is fit but Navas can still be a useful impact substitute to run at tired players in the last 20 minutes.

3 things:
  • Aguero was getting into positions to miss chances, Navas hit 2 City players from 18 crosses so gave the opposition the ball 16 times to start counter attacks
  • Aguero took a knock the week before and doesn't look 100% fit
  • Aguero hasn't been shit for over a season, so we can allow him a short period out of form

Ah, the he is excempt criticism trick.

I thought he always hit the first man and never beats a man? How did he manage a few high crosses?

His final ball can be frustrating that is a fact so can sterlings in fairness and neither are very good finishers either, people seem to forget all the other reasons for them being on the pitch, work rate, tempo, ball retention, the ability to draw defenders to them etc....

People also seem to forget that all wide men when crossing the ball will find a defender more than their own men otherwise we would score ten goals every game, if we replace navas with someone with his positives but better delivery then I would be very happy, if we however put him on the bench and use say nasri then it would be a terrible mistake

We have seen what negatives having nasri, silva and toure can bring, we need navas and sterling for balance

Yesterday was going to be sterling, kdb and silva but silva got injured and sterling was poor, injuries will continue as will the need to rest those 3

Navas will play again plenty this season and until we sign someone better in his position I am very happy about it

Calling him shit and hoping he never plays again are posts from people who should think a little bit more before posting, it embarrasses you tbh

Well said.

He is not a scapegoat. There groans because of his inability to do what he is out there to do. He has consistently failed to do his job and yesterday he was at his very worse. If he added an end product. He's not going to though is he? I would agree I using him as an impact sub though.

I agree, he was very frustrating yesterday. His main problem right now is hesitation, that stems from lack of confidence and the only way to build that back up is by getting behind him. We would be lethal if he could just improve his crossing because he gets in so many good positions. There is nothing wrong with Pellegrini's way of playing it's just that the player executing it is struggling at the crucial moment.

Ah, the he is excempt criticism trick.

And I said he was exempt from criticism where? In fact, I was saying at the game to my mate that he should be substituted as it wasn't happening for him.

The difference is Navas has been frustratingly ineffective for over a year, Sergio on the other hand won the Golden Boot.

He's alot more dangerous than Nasri and i'm not joking. Lack of confidence is the reason for his hestitation imo but he got some balls in yesterday, it was just west ham had a man on the front post (hence all our corners)

Nasri just slows everything down - I don't think he played that bad yesterday (his worse game was against watford).

Surely when Silva is fit the front 4 and 2 in midfield will be:

aguero
sterling silva de bruyne
toure fernandinho

Just about there...
