had to laugh when everyone was coming off the pitch at FT and the refs wanted the ball back and he punched it up in the air about 20 feet lol. Refs just left it on the pitch
I don't think anyone is saying he was the worse player on the pitch and you're correct, he's more than proved his worth to us.Oh for fuck sake not this again. He has more than proven himself good enough for this team. The West Ham game may not have been his best but he sure as fuck wasn't the worst player on the pitch.

The thing is, whenever we concede a goal that people think he could have done better with, this thread will likely be bumped. The same it'd be bumped if he had a stormer and kept us in a game.
Yesterday was the former.
I've been saying this for a while now but I get crucified every time I even dare to question his ability. Good keeper but has too many weaknesses in his game to ever be considered "World Class" which is the level required for teams aspiring to win the Champions League.I don't think he has personally. He definitely had an improved year last season, but that isn't saying much given how poor he'd been prior to that for circa 2 years. All the same old weaknesses are there, in spite of the odd top draw, highlight material, reaction save.
You ever speak to neutrals it's Joe they highlight as the weak link.
Think too many people have blinkers with him personally.
He's a decent keeper, nothing more. IMO. I'll get a lot of flak for saying that, but that's my opinion.
There seems to be this forlorn hope among a lot of blues that people still expect him to go on and be amongst the top 5 goalkeepers in the world.
We've gone past that now, he's not a young lad anymore. He's at his peak now, and it isn't where we'd hoped it'd be 5 years ago.
Still a decent keeper, just don't think he's of the standard of the rest of the squad.
He's not a Courtois, or a De Gea. He's not a Cech.
His greatest strength is an instinctive reaction save, besides that the rest is fairly average.
I think if Guardiola does come in next summer he'd be the most vulnerable among the squad to losing his place, given the way Guardiola likes his keepers to play.
That's my cold, no sentiment assessment.
No it gets bumped by the same idiots who have had to hold their tongue for months while Joe has been having a stormer and the moment he lets in a slightly dodgy goal they can't wait to get on here and type the same bollocks they used to and listing keepers who are "better" than him. He is going to be our keeper for years to come so they should just get over it cos it really is tiring.
Lloris? jesus fucking Christ. im all for debate but that is taking the pissOn paper, ignoring all the integration business and excluding Neuer?
Courtois.
De Gea.
Cech.
Buffon.
Lloris.
Keylor Navas.
Probably a couple more, but those are the obvious ones, and I don't want to get into a half hour debate about the merits of a couple in which there isn't much in it.
Honestly don't think there's much between Joe and someone like Begovic.
