3 shots on target from open play, 2 crosses completed from open play and about 30 unsuccessful, very little support in the area for Aguero. So despite being "totally dominant" we were easy to defend against.
We created 18 chances, we average 15 a game at home so that's decent but how many were clear cut? 1? Where Aguero got in on Howard.

Putting on a striker to open up space and pull defenders out of position, when we do have the Lions share of possession and they are basically playing for the draw is far from this binary bollocks you're spouting.
Lets be fair here though, we had numerous shots blocked, same with crosses, as the Everton back line threw everything in the way, yes we did have a few poor efforts, and too many poor/average crosses, but you have to give some credit to the Everton back line, and there's little you can do when Howard makes that stop he knew nothing about.

Also putting Silva on, did pull defenders out of position, so it worked, and I was a bit 'meh' about it at the time, but KdB was having a bit of a shocker, so a change of some sort was required.

One reason I like Kelechi, is that he does more defending from the front than any of out other forward players (its a bit headless chicken though), and this is one of the most frustrating things about our squad, the attacking players seem to think defending is for others to do, and yet they can all do it, they just don't do it enough, its the one thing I hope PG improves when he gets here.

Talk of him getting frustrated is daft in my opinion, he knows that being here is the best thing for his future career, he's a confident, even cocky individual footballing wise, and I'm sure he's plenty patient enough, hopefully he'll be rewarded with a CL spot at the end of the month. He'll get playing time, but fans need to be patient, I wouldn't have thrown him on late last night, we were playing well.

I think the fact Pellegrini made no changes at all suggests he didn't overlook nacho as much as decide it was only a matter of time before we scored or Everton fucked up - which Stones did.

If he'd brought on say..Delph for Fernando as an attacking move, then I'd be more inclined to believe he deliberately passed over Kalechi.

How many times did Sterling or Navas look up and have NOBODY in the box to cross to last night? A dozen? More? Another striker just might have helped out in that.

So all them last ditch tackles were easy, were they? For example Stones blocking Sterling's shot, that was easy was it and btw that doesn't go down as a shot on target.

Oh and Yaya's header, that was clear cut too
It is easy to drop to the floor and block a shot, yes. You just have to follow the man and read what he's going to do, especially when it's Sterling ever so predictably cutting inside (not having a pop so much at him as I thought he played well second half but he's so easy to read coming in from the left!).

Yaya's header was our most clear cut chance all game. The game lasted 93 minutes though and you're scratching your head for many others all game.

The thing is, the world and his dog can see that Kelechi is not "developing", "young and promising", and all the rest of it. He's good to go now. A little detail: that shot cutting in from a difficult angle, that was chipped, and that Ruddy just managed to tip over, in about the eight minute of the Norwich game. That was sheer class, coolness under pressure, the decision to try the difficult shot that bloody nearly came off, that you associate with a considerably more experienced player. Nothing that Manuel has done or is doing this season is annoying me as much as the underplaying of Iheanacho. I genuinely believe that he could be that extra factor that re-galvanises the attack, and could carry us to the league title. Sod seniority. It is criminal not to be using him. And I don't only mean for cup matches.

There are many more clued up than me on this kind of thing but for me to Play Nacho would mean sacrificing a player elsewhere. Is pellers reluctance to go back to 442 because he know we don't have the solidity in midfield to accommodate this? Just a thought
