I highly doubt he was signed for nothing, most academies in Nigeria ask for at least 300 thousand Euros and that's for players no where near Kelechi in terms of talent. And I heard one of the reasons he picked city over Porto was because they offered more money.Nothing.

Offered more money to the player perhaps, but it was a nominal fee to the academy. I read £250k or thereabouts a while ago.
