Isn't great at possession football, but that can be coached into him... 82% pass completion last season and only 77% for us so far whilst everyone around him has high 80's/90's

When you look back to signings of kdb and sterling, it was an amazing move apart from them being hot commodities, one offers pace and othe offers direct approach which we both lacked, comparing him and Silva is just not right because both offer completely different play which is essential for our success

Loving this thread, 3 goals in 3 starts and never be as good as Silva. Love Bluemoon.
There were clowns on here comparing him to Ronaldinho and predicting a Ballon D'or the other day.
It cuts both ways.
He took his goal well today, besides that, he was poor. Had little to no influence on the game.
David might not pose as great a goal threat, but he's always an influence on our game. Sets our whole tempo.
De Bruyne is a promising player, and I think he'll prove a key player for us eventually, but let's not get carried away with predictions about his future. Not much different to those select few getting carried away by our start to the season and predicting us to walk the league.

Agree, but Silva also have mediocre games. He was ominous against Juventus at home, in fact like Yaya he's never really done it for us consistently in the CL.
Still one of my favourite players though.

Didn't say that. Said he will never take over his role, like many have been proclaiming he will.

Still one of my favourite players though.
I don't think he was fully fit against Juve mate, definitely not 100% with his ankle issue.
He was poor though, unusually so.
He's our single most key play though, IMO. Don't look the same side without him.
A fully fit David is what we desperately need right now, really hope he's carefully managed back to fitness and has no more issues.
