I think it was a precautionary substitution after his exertions for Belgium. In light of the injury situation, if an opportunity comes up (e.g 4-1 at home) to rest and not risk an important player then we have to take that chance and that was the case for Yaya and De Bruyne.

His best position is the one that benefits the team most. As it turns out, that set up has just won us a match 5-1 with Kevin playing well on the left. So it's a bit silly to use this as a stick to beat Pellegrini with.
