Kolarov's been pretty good this season. I think at times he's been given more freedom to go forward as Sagna doesn't so much and we still have 3 back plus Fernando.

Otamendi & Kompany are forming a great understanding. The first time I've been comfortable with two centre back pairings in a long time.

He's been impressive apart from selling himself for their goal. Good on the ball, great in the air, great in the one vs one. I do feel sorry for the Quim though. He's done absolutely nothing wrong. In fact he was every bit as impressive as Otamendi has been over the last few games. Just hope Mangala gets some games soon because he's turning into the defender we all hoped he could be. Great position to be in mind. 1 world class centre back, and 2 very good ones. Not bad.

Unfortunate for Mangala because Otamendi covers our left back so much better, as well he winning so many 50/50's- he's a must for all the bigger games and will only improve as he plays more with Vinny. Mangala was looking more settled, as is Fernando after a year or so to settle in, but can't see him getting many extended runs in the team without an injury. Finally If we can sort our left back out we shall have some team, a team capable of winning the CL in my opinion.

He's settled so well and it was another fine performance. It's weird to have essentially two Kompany's - two players incredibly composed in defence and able to calmly pass the ball out of trouble. I'd actually say Otamendi is better on the ball but the passion and power of those two will make it very hard for Mangala to break them up and establish himself. If they continue to gel and stay fit, Kompany and Otamendi could become one of the great central defensive partnerships in the Prem and Europe. They have all the attributes to dominate as Vidic and Wio used to at the swamp.
