He had a lot of ground to cover for that tackle, there were many ways to make a mess of it and it was a pretty deft touch by the Sevilla player. I think more than half the time you see that ball end up out of play. It was certainly an error, I'm not trying to write it off, but the problem on that sequence was the diagonal ball (which was there a few times too many last night, if we're nit picking) that caused him to have to speed over. I honestly haven't watched it enough to know if Otamendi should have been tracking that runner, but they were able to play that ball a few times against us and it was very dangerous each time.

Tbf mate I doubt the people on here that said he wasn't good enough will admit it either.

Good point. Everyone seems to want to make snap judgements about these days rather than doing the sensible thing and allowing players the chance to acclimatise to their surroundings. Its a good job the people in charge of the funds at city aren't as trigger happy.

Playing well now he's settled in a bit Nico. Still makes me shit it going in for some tackles though.

Great partnership alongside Kompany, very experienced individuals that im beginning to think will form a solid partnership in the league and the chumps league. Another top performance there yesterday.

Classic pendulum. First he's dogshit - a total waste of money. Next he's a worldie and we robbed Valencia for a mere £32m. Finally, he settles down as a solid international-class defender.
