Otamendi played with Mangala in Portugal, we have not bought him for htat sum of money to be fourth choice, he will start if Vinnie is injured.
Don't expect some on here to know this
He cost us a point today, chased after the ball instead of holding his position when kolarov and Mangala had already gone to it.
But that's the way it goes. Can't expect him to be perfect when brought on for his debut in a game of this level halfway through.
He is a quality player, one mistake doesn't change that.

Obviously hindsight is a wonderful thing but i said at the game i didn't think it was a good idea bringing him on, would rather of seen Demi. Pellegrini himself said before Palace he's not had enough time with us yet to bed in and learn our system to be involved at Palace so why was he fine to be thrown into the deep end against the champions league finalists 3 days later?

He was covering Morratas forward run in case the ball came through, not his fault it cannoned of Kolarovs arm.

Another new CB who will soon realise Kolarov can't actually defend very well. If he simply heads the ball away, problem solved.Not the best performance but totally forgivable. It's not the ideal scenario for a debut

Mangala was out of position. Otamendi should have been the spare man.
Just shows how naive we are in the CL. We should have taken the draw or at least been smarter about chasing the win. A draw wouldn't have been a bad result but now it's gonna be a slog to top the group.
