a man's performance tonight, the contrast. Pelle put his faith in him tonight and he repaid it, everything I wanted to see from him, quick, bold, ambitious, aggressive, taking people on and being adventurous with his play, doesn't matter if it doesn't always work, but we've needed to see him get out of his shell and have a go. That hopefully is the start of a special run for him.

That was the Sterling that absolutely terrorised us every time we played Liverpool.

First ten minutes he was incredible. Yes he came in and out and got a couple of things wrong here and there but I think the first 10 minutes are more of a sign of what we can expect in the future. I also think he was unlucky once or twice when cutting in, but his pace and trickery caused them problems and he often looks a very potent threat. Still noticed him track their full backs a bit, then leave them to kolarov (who often doesn't do enough) when I'd rather he just tracked the full back all the way. When he first joined his defensive work was absolutely exceptional, but it's tailed off a bit now and he leaves his man too often. It's obviously not THE priority in his position but he's quick enough and fit enough to cover the extra 10 yards or so defensively and it would do us a lot of good if he did. Taking unnecessary chances otherwise

He is doing well buy he isn't at Ibe's level yet.

Chin up Raheem one day you might get there.

Co-commentator on Irish TV tonight said that when he runs at people like he did tonight then he is world class. This is what I've been wanting from him since he joined us. Superb performance & only pipped to MOTM by the super human that is Fernandinho
