He was fantastic last night and that's exactly what we'll need from him in the CL. The pass through to him for his goal was brilliant but you just can't defend against that movement, like lightning he just burst behind the defence and it was an incredibly cool finish for someone who apparently can't shoot to save their life! If it's true that Kidd's been spending time with him in training then it's worked a treat - a real strikers finish, slotting it past the keeper like that. Was brilliant, as were many last night. We've been very good recently without perhaps being 100% across the squad nor particularly balanced - tonight showed what we can do when everyone's on form and up for it.

Had a face like thunder when he was interviewed. Honestly think he's getting pissed off with being subbed even when he has a good game like last night. We know it was tactical but would like to see him play against Villa and not get subbed unless he is having a shocker. Just for his confidence.

Think you are reading far too much into that. He's a pretty emotionless kid and had run himself into the ground for the team.

I think the lad just hates the media and I don't blame him for the way he's been treated over the summer and still.

Agreed, his interviews are usually given with a fairly deadpan expression. Cracking performance from him last night, perhaps Kiddo has been encouraging him to use his left foot more often as he has seemed to lack confidence on that side but he's now shown he can finish well with it.

He's had a hamstring injury, and stayed down seemingly injured on two occasions last night. Good call to take him off.
