My point is that his expectation levels do not match his age, by a really large margin and instead are focused on price.

We are the experts at overpaying so we can't use price against him.

He has been average so far though. I don't think anyone can deny that. De bruyne has recently too. When Silva is out we really need these two to be taking games by the scruff of the neck.

problem is we paid £45m for a player who cant shoot for shit at the minute.....I have said sterling needs time but you cannot, cannot miss from 5 yards and when you connect it is going wide anyway

he should have buried that in the near post

The near post effort would probably have been saved so for me he went in the right direction as there was enough room to build a shed.Unfortunately his shot was blocked.People ignore the fact that Sergio has done it plenty of times this season and he`s a world quality player in that position.

There's two schools of thought here though - do you play him in the position where he needs to learn to give him experience of it or do you play him in the position where he's best at the potential cost of his development? Purely on a selfish level, playing him as an out and out striker as both Rodgers and now Pellers have done is really what's best for him.

However, this is seemingly not what's best for the team at large as you point out because he's often ineffectual for the time being.
For me, if you're playing Bournemouth, you play him where ever you think will benefit his development most, if you're playing Juventus away, in a very important game, you play him where he best suits the team.

My reaction to my lad, when he replaced Sergio, was "game over". We'd given up any chance of scoring in that moment, and that is not to knock Sterling, its to knock the manager, Both his outfield subs tonight were baffling. Until the first one, I thought we had the shape, to get something, possibly even a win, from the game and had played pretty well, after the first sub we were clueless, lost any drive we had, and the second just cemented it. I'm often moaned at for being a Pellegrini lover (I often stand up for him), tonight he got the starting line up spot on, I was pleased with it, given the injuries, and so it proved, bar another unfortunate goal, poor poor team defending.

In the second half he got it wrong, and he gave us no chance from the minute Fernandhino was taken off.

sorry oaks but he should have scored...1st time I will criticise him since joining.

ps - navas needs to go

Absurd. Absolutely absurd.

If I was to say that Jo was shite would you still be posting videos of Messi missing sitters?

In no way are they comparable. Messi has been the best player in the world for a good 6 years, Sterling wasn't nearly the best player at a mid table Liverpool side.

Fernandinho was our best player, was absolutely fucking perplexed when Pellegrini took him off. When we were chasing the game as well.

Fucking madness.
