Probably more Daily Mail BS but they are saying Nike are plotting to follow Ronaldo's marketing template, i.e make Sterling a brand. With us being Nike's only Premier League sponser and Ronaldo in his 30's, it probably is true that he will be their next poster boy. City have bought in to it as well and will use him as our global face.

Will bring in a lot of revenue for the club. Will cover those add-ons we're yet to pay and if he keeps on improving his value will be up towards double what we bought him for in the next 4 years anyway.

The deal looks better and better based on our performances so far with him in the side. He's the only addition in our starting 11 and yet we have so much more balance. If he's not tearing the opposition apart, he's attracting the attentions of their defenders which allows more space for others. His impact has been brilliant so far. Looking forward to him having a stand out game and scoring a few goals. That will settle him down and he'll go from strength to strength. For someone so young he's got a lot of experience and I'm excited we've bought him, having been sceptical initially.

Two points from this.

1) It would suggest the Barca duo know what they're doing when signing a player, I'm sure this will have been pitched to Nike a long time before we made our first bid.

2) This is why those "pointless fucking image rights bollocks" are so, so important when signing a player for mega money, as having the rights means going forward players will effectively pay for themselves.
