I sed it last week...

He's not being himself because of Koralov. It's clear to see!

Kolarov is there to provide him an option. If he could cut inside and beat a player, then Kolarov would not be an issue. However, Sterling seems unable to get the ball out from under his feet and is making it easy for the defenders to dispossess him or simply take him out of the play. Looks to me like his confidence has taken a knock, possiblybevause he realizes he is in a squad that is at a different level than he was at with the Dippers.

Our problem on the left is definitely NOT Kolarov!
He blocks the space and forces Sterling into making decisions he wouldn't normally make. He then drops into a more defensive position to cover Koralov. Sterling isn't playing with the freedom he needs.

Koralov thinks he's a winger, the number 11 shirt says it all.

Another poor game from him. Still waiting for him to live up to the hype.

bollocks, how many times did kolarov overlap today and get a shit pass off sterling and half the time sterling didn't help out defensively

His game is stalled sheerly because of the ineptitude of Aleksandar Kolarov. The lad is constantly looking over his shoulder to track back, which yes is needed but that's all he seems to be doing as Kolarov bombs past him and ambles back to where his position should be. The sooner we get Clichy back in this team, the sooner we see the real potential of Raheem.

Feel like I have signed on to a Comedy Forum!!

Sterlings game isn't, nor has it ever been, getting down the left flank and crossing the ball with his left peg. Was this your first game, mate?

You haven't but you're in danger of turning it into one.

He doesn't have to cross it. But it's an option and means not cutting inside every time and being utterly predictable.
Yes it's good to have Kolarov over lapping every now and then but not every time the ball goes to Sterling.

Hazard is a right footer on the left and Azpilicueta(or who ever is playing left back) doesn't feel the need to bomb past him every time because he doesn't cross with his left foot. but he instead often stands back and allows Hazard more space to dribble into etc.
The left back flying forward makes the right sided midfielder follow and just takes all the space out of that side.

Sagna and Zabaleta are much more in tune with this and choose their runs...Look how often Navas gets in behind a defense.

This is probably all lost on you anyway
