Often the last thing he does, whether it be a pass a cross a shot or a dive, is the worst thing he does. But had a good first half last night and overall had a decent game, if not a bit quiet second half.

A lot to improve on but he is improving.

God help everyone else then since he's one of our most effective players!

Just noticed that The Telegraph gave him 5/10 in their match ratings. Ridiculous. He was the best attacking player on the pitch.

For large chunks of the match he was the best defensive player, as well.

Moronic ratings to be sure.

I would agree with your "last thing" comment and that he is improving weekly.

There were strong rumours of pep wanting sterling last summer but the price was prohibitive - there's no way Bayern would pay so much for someone so young and largely unproven.

He was definitely looking for a winger though, hence Douglas Costa going there.
