He's out for 5-6 wks. Not going in to how I know but it's true

I feel so sorry for Kun. It looked like it happened when Besic shoved him over off the ball.

That's a blow at any time. However because that includes so many games over the Xmas/new year period, it increases the loss.

Of course we get Merlin back, so there is definite compensation. But Kun is in such rare form that he is almost irreplaceable.

Its a combination of a knee-knock from behind by (Everton player Coleman?tracking back) to Aguero's left knee & a shove from Besic from the front. Watch (Coleman's 'slight hop') to 'knee' Aguero's left leg & subsequently falling down acting 'injured'. It's equivalent to a tackle from behind and a bowling over from the front. Classic sandwich.

Re: Sergio Aguero

Thank you for your views all you orthopaedic surgeons. Maybe he's just twisted his knee and will feel better in the morning?

Re: Sergio Aguero

No disrespect to our next few opponents, but we shouldn't need sergio.
Hopefully it isn't a serious injury and he will be back for our harder fixtures in jan.

He walked off the pitch, that tells me it's not the acl that's gone, I'd say he's torn the medial ligament and that's about 4 to 6 weeks recovery, I did mine about 2 years ago and it felt like my knee exploded, shit me up n made me a bit teary...... Keeping positive about kun though, like I said the fact he didn't need a stretcher tells you something.

your bang on mate

what a fucking bastard eh just when things were clicking into place

They'll still click, we've come through some tricky games with kompany, Silva , kolorov, Dzeko out at various times and now kun is out someone else will step up to the plate.. We look like we've got our mojo back...
Aguero can take his time recovering with Edin back...

If that turns out to be the case, I'll be tugging from now til Christmas. However, this is City we're talking about so I'm expecting an amputation

Re: Sergio Aguero

It would be so nice for at least 1 season to not have Kompany, Silva or Aguero injured at any point.

On the positive side for the League our next games up to 10th Jan are:

Leicester (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
WBA (A)
Burnley (H)
Sunderland (H)

so if we get Kompany and Silva back playing for these we should hopefully be OK

Then we have

Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (A)

where we could do with Agureo fit again.

As for Roma away that will be even more difficult now of course without Aguero, and as for the FA cup of course that depends on who we draw. For the latter a nice home draw v lower league opposition and a 20 min cameo by a returning Aguero in preparation for a start v Everton away the week after would be nice.

At present against corresponding opposition we have met in the League so far, I think we are 4 pts better off with exactly the same For and Against goal tallies. Thus get to the Everton game away in Jan with say 46-48 pts and the Title race is really on.

At least in NFL they diagnose a knee ligament tear quickly, within hours it's revealed. Hopefully it's just a severe sprain.

hoping the same. i though get him back for xmas and i'll be happy.

Its probably the best we can expect.

You always hope its just a jarred knee but some damage to the ligaments would seem likely.

I hope its no worse than Silva's injury and obviously hope the scans reveal less damage than that.

Silva's was different though, opening his knee up inside to out. Classic medial ligament strain. Almost always 4-6 weeks. Sergio's was a lot harder to identify. All I know is I'll be pooing my pants until the scan results are out.......

Asked my brother who is a doctor in seattle and asked him as he deals with a lot of sports injuries as football is very popular out there ... told me if it was worst case scenario of a torn ACL he would NOT want to get up and walk because it feels as if your knee is going to buckle any moment so you would ALWAYS gets stretchered off for that... he says your knee simply cannot handle your weight and a person is too scared to walk.

He did say sports physio's are top class and even on the pitch in a matter of minutes they can figure out if it is a season out or weeks-months out, but with Sergio walking with a limp and the physio asking him to get up, my brother said he has prbably anything from a strain to a partial tear which means one of the posters said 5-6 weeks out, (just like Silva), I would probably say sounds about right...

Personally I think the tears were more of disappointment because Kun knows he was in the form of his life, now if he was in tears and stretchered I would be a lot more worried... my brother, who is also a City fan thinks with Pellers confirming it is Serg's knee ligaments which have a problem, thinks end of Jan is when we'll see our lad back...

Someone this forum said dont ask me how but 5-6 weeks for sure... I would be inclined to agree especially after chatting with my borther who watched the game too.

Just in time to kick Mourinho's arse then...... :-)
