Haven't been this upset about one player since we sold Paul Stewart to Spurs.

Yep... completely gutted. Feeling as if our season is over to be honest, which I know we aren't but just feel gutted for him and feel like the wind has been knocked out of us and our team... I just hope we don't let this injury forget our momentum...

Lets get through to the CL last 16, get Serg settled down and recovering, bring his lad over for xmas and get maximum points from now till mid Jan with Dzeko, Jovetic, Yaya, Komps, Silva and Nasri stepping up their game ... lets set this up nicely so we our Sergio can come in and help us hammer the last 3-4 months of the season to beat Chelski to the title!

Re: Sergio Aguero

A ray of hope to brighten your Sunday morning. From a physio....

Receiving the ball on the edge of the area, Aguero gets tackled, falls, then immediately gets back up and attempts to retrieve the ball again, at this point, his mechanical positioning is awkward and to reach he has to abduct at the hip rather than flex (a sideways motion, rather than a forward one), he is abducted almost fully, and plants his foot at full stretch. In this extended position the external rotation at the hip now needed to bring him back to a forward facing position causes an excessive rotation at the knee, stressing the medial collateral ligament (MCL) of the knee. Indeed, Sergio goes down and instantly holds his knee over his MCL.

The mechanism of injury is a concern, as this type of rotatory force to the knee, if excessive can damage the MCL, the cruciate ligaments and the meniscus, it’s called the ‘unhappy triad’ or ‘blown knee.’ Having said that, with no other player or impediment involved I don’t think the force was excessive enough to cause damage to the cruciates, but it could have tweaked the meniscus? So at this stage, until scans or further news we can only speculate. Having said that, as a purely remote observation from the perspective of a physio, Sergio’s injury might not be as serious as first feared and if an injury has indeed occurred, the signs are good that he has suffered a grade 1 or grade1-2 sprain to the MCL, which would mean anything from 2-5 weeks on the treatment table. It’s obviously difficult to tell and further news will almost certainly shine a clearer light as, having viewed the footage, it’s not out of the question that he may have just tweaked or stretched a few fibres and just misses the one gameweek.

Could be worse news on Aguero than City feared. Hearing it might well be ACL.

What the ?
It could be worse, or it could be better. It might well be the ACL, or it might not.
Keys is just an unpleasant stain on the desert sand, he is paid obscene sums to emit Qatari propaganda

You won't be surprised to learn that it wasn't a penalty either. Sadly, his sources in the region seem pretty good although, on this occasion, it does feel like pure speculation on his part as surely there cannot have been a scan to analyse at the time that he tweeted. Got him some re-tweets, though.

Yeah, Keys does not have a good reputation and has been incorrect alot of times he has tweeted in the past...

Even if it is ACL as I mentioned, it will not be a torn (season over), as his knee would buckle/feel as if it would buckle and in now way walk... ACL can also be strained or partial Grade 1&2 which is no more than 6-8 weeks out...

Keys is WUM and knows jack shit... he has absolutely no connections/insight/contact via anyone at the club becase he has been far off the mark in previous predictions...
