Player topic: Stevan Jovetic (2014/15)

Disappointed that the move hasn't worked out and I wish the lad well when he does leave in the summer.

Not a chance. Already told us he wants out.

Juventus tried it on with £12m in January and we told them to do one.

Any fee will be closer to £18m.
Instead we thought we'd be better off marginalising him, paying his wages every week, possibly letting that spread discontent within the squad and no doubt taking 12m in the summer as he hasn't played for the last 6 months. All because we signed a replacement who can only play with Aguero in a 4-4-2 that most would claim doesn't reliably work.

Our treatment of Jovetic is one of the daftest things we've done and if we turned down an offer in January it's even more absurd.

Absolutely spot on. No one will pay 18 million after he misses half a season for no reason. Who the hell knowingly dininishes the value of an asset they intend to liquidate? Where did these people study management? They also did it with Nastasic. Clowns.

Can't really argue with these last 2 posts. It really is baffling. Even if the sheikh doesn't mind his money being pissed up the wall, in the context of FFP our policy towards Nastasic and now Jovetic makes very little sense.

We didn't lose all that much with Nastasic. He was part of a swap deal with Savic going in the opposite direction. We will probably take a hit with Jovetic but again we have recouped most of our money for Rodwell so I wouldn't be surprised the two 'clowns' will get a good deal in the summer.

Yep, we might get close to 30 like we did for Negredo after he missed half a season too :)

yws we did tbh we sell him for a total of maybe 9M(fee+loan) and when we bought him we paid 12M+savic...we take a hit of 7-8M here and is not really ''that cheap'' in the context of FFp imho

It makes no sense whatsoever what is going on behind the scenes at the club and it ain't just these two that have dumbfounded me in the past..

It time we get rid of this guy. His style does not work in the PL. End of. He doesn't put in the work, he is more concerned with making a showboat highlight reel, never had I had such high hopes for someone at city, and this guy has failed miserably.

Say what you want but at least when he came on he had a bit of urgency and directness about him. Have him in the team any day over Dzeko or Bony. Hasn't been given a fair crack if you ask me. Should have been brought on sooner.
