Player topic: Stevan Jovetic (2014/15)

Sky sports reporting that jovetic will be sold to Juventus if/when Bony signs. I admit that Bony is certainly the better goal scorer but I think that jovetic brings more to the team, for example you could play jovetic on the left of a 4231 whereas bony can only play up front

Jovetic does plenty of things OK but not one well... and the things he does we have plenty of depth in. If he showed any ability to lead the line, he'd stick around.

He's got all the talent in the world but just doesn't make sense on this team. Love to see most of his fee back.

i'll take bony over stevan all day long. the main thing for me that tells them apart is actually in defence. bony will be a great player to have when defending set pieces. vital in fact. that could be worth a point or three itself.

The main thing that tells them apart is that one's an AM and the other is a 9

I can't remember who said it here, but I'll nick the sentiment that Jovetic reminds me of Leonardo diCaprio playing a footballer in a movie. Really looks the part sometimes but in the end it is just all more or less an illusion.

And to the poster who supposedly lived in Manchester all those years and never heard "rag." Really? Been 20 since I lived in the area but it was certainly in regular use then. My dad says it was a term when he was young also. I think it even dates to before the second world war.

Apparently they got the name because they played in a shabby kit years ago due to the club being so poor. As a previous poster said I remember seeing it in Kotk issues and then in use on here but not before. I did say I led a sheltered life!

As for the Di Caprio comparison I think he doesn't help himself with the flicks and tricks. He's not a team player and I don't think he's showed any consistency up to now. Still would give him until May to prove himself.

Apart from a a load of flicks and tricks he doesn't offer much that is important, i.e. goals and assists.

I was buzzing of my biceps when Jovetic signed as I loved watching him for Fiorentina but it saddens me as to how poor he has been. He's far from gash but he seems to be trying too much and too hard to impress, if he went out and played his normal game it would be a worthwhile risk despite his injury record but he should be shipped ou ASAP.

Like many , when jovetic signed , i thought we were getting a top player , but his injuries have meant he has never fulfilled his potential , he has shown in some games that he can be a match winner ,but if Bony does arrive , MP will revert to 2 strikers from kun, edin and bony , which means less opportunity for jovetic to play as a number 10. We should cut our losses and wish the lad well , he is a popular player in Italy , and he could excel at a club like juventus , if we can recover £15m , then its , see you later stefan

Good to see proper blues posting with honesty.

None of us want to slag off our players. We can all see that he has talent.

However, the consensus is surprisingly similar to mine.

So, to use exaggeration to almost its utmost, we are replacing Norman Wisdom with Mr T. Not before time.

Once again. good luck Mr Jovetic and thanks for the memories.

C'mon, Wilf Bony...

The consensus on Bluemoan is thankfully not what the majority of City fans think on most topics

I am not sure what you mean.

In any event, both the consensus and span of opinion on 'The Moan' reflect my conversations with fellow blues, who mostly Mancs and match-goiing, I have to add.

The other day mp said that bony was a replacement for negrado.

Now last year, at the start of the season when kun, negrado and edin were all fit, it was negrado that got the nod over dzeko.....so for me that means bony is more of a threat to dzekos place than jovetic ( though not conclusivexas jovetic was injured at this poinr)

However, dzeko can only play one position whereas jovetic can play anywhere across the midfield from.an attacking point of view as well as in a pair with anotjer striker.....for that reason as well for me hevis more valuable to the team than some people realise.

He has been very unlucky with injuries but he is a very good player and should be percervered with. I certainly dont agree with those who say he is no better an attacking midfielder than milner or navas
