Player topic: Stevan Jovetic (2014/15)

The other day mp said that bony was a replacement for negrado.

Now last year, at the start of the season when kun, negrado and edin were all fit, it was negrado that got the nod over dzeko.....so for me that means bony is more of a threat to dzekos place than jovetic ( though not conclusivexas jovetic was injured at this poinr)

However, dzeko can only play one position whereas jovetic can play anywhere across the midfield from.an attacking point of view as well as in a pair with anotjer striker.....for that reason as well for me hevis more valuable to the team than some people realise.

He has been very unlucky with injuries but he is a very good player and should be percervered with. I certainly dont agree with those who say he is no better an attacking midfielder than milner or navas

he's not in competition for a starting place but for a CL place.

Very frustrating player.
Every one can see the talent is there, but still very rough all around . He needs to work on his fundamentals as he is lacking terribly there :
he couldn't pass for the sake of his own life, looses possession on pressure, often brakes attack builds-up with poor touches or bad decisions.
Reminiscent of Dzeko's problems.
While the likes of Yaya, Silva, Nasri and Aguerro combine all-together with fluidity and intricate chemistry,
you put either one of Stevan or Edin in the mix, and you can guess who is likely to fuck up the build up.

Yet, Stevan is only 25, he can still learn alot while playing with us and become the finish product soon.

I am no doubt that given a year or so he'll be a top top player. its whether we can wait that long. or him for that matter.

Promise and reality.

Absolutely think this guy is one of the most creative, skillful players in the game. Unfortunately, his specific style doesn't translate well to the English/MC style of game. For him to be his best, the play needs to funnel through him. At fiorentina, the play bottle-necked through him and allow him to sit a little deeper and be the "creative initiator". With MC you already have 3 or 4 people on the team that can play that role with Merlin, Nasri etc. So he kind of would look lost a lot of times. It hurts when a player you like so much just doesn't fit your team. I think this is the case with Jovetic. I will follow him and root for him until he retires. Sad to see him go, but I think it would be best.

Aguero + Sanchez + Dzeko + Bony = UNSTOPPABLE

Do you mean Arsenal's Sanchez?

If so, he turned us down once already and Arsenal won't sell another Arsenal player to us... well not one that is making them look good.

I didn't say it's ever going to happen, but to be honest that front line shouldn't envy Barca's and Real's.
Maybe if the the arse fails to reach top 4 and City splash a minimum of £60 M it can be possible.

Pfft he can get to fuck at that price, he shouldn't of gone to Barca in 2011. Granted Barca at that time would be hard to turn down, but Kun chose us and the rest is history.

I'm quite happy for Sanchez to enjoy the limelight of being the only decent player at Arsenal right now. I'd rather the money be spent on finding another great City player like Kun.

Edit: I mean another fish worth a lot less.

This - but as we have the likes of Silva / Nasri he needs to make himself as influential and consistant as those two in games to justify a start. That is the reality of our squad. We are not going to change for him, he needs to find his way in to our team. At a smaller club it would be easier for him as they would be reliant on him as there best creative player, you would need to be one heck of a player to stand out in our midfield. If you are not the main man you have to make yourself a vital cog in the machine. I like him but the harsh truth is he does not currently make our best 11.
