Agree, thought he looked really up for it after he came on....but by then I think Aguero and Silva had pretty much thrown in the towel.MC ID said:Thought he did well when he came on, was always going forward and trying to force his way through with runs, the complete antithesis of what we saw in the first half.

He gives the ball away far to cheaply, doesnt have a trick in his locker, looks busy with his arms all over the show because he is generally chasing down a ball he has given away. Constantly runs into areas where other players are and gets in the way. Doesnt have good strength on the ball, isnt good in the air.... therefore IMO he is simply not good enough
but some of you lot seem to see something completely different to me... bewildered
ps I watched the game last night i know only a friendly, but he was f*cking dreadful in the 1st half completely anonymous and tried his best to miss the goal !!

You are too rach on him.
I agree with most of your analysis, but i have seen enough of him to know that he is one of our most skilled player when it comes to trickery and dummies with the ball. He just has not enough confidence to take on opponents on a regular basis ( same critic to Nasri and Navas though :-) ).
My main concern about Jovetic is, to my opinion, that he lacks football brains, which is a terrible handicap when you are an AM type of player.
Ric said:Yeah, I don't think he lacks football brains. I'm just not sure he's suited to our system.
We rely on retaining the ball, whereas Jovetic is happy to take risks with his lay offs and dummies. Most of his team mates aren't on the same wavelength so we often concede possession, which is why I think Pellegrini doesn't fully trust him.
I thought he did well when he came off the bench on Sunday though - we certainly created more with him on the pitch.

Cannot agree with that at all. Can you elaborate
He did do well when he came o. V arsenal, but he keeps on playing 'quite well' without doing a great dealRic said:Yeah, I don't think he lacks football brains. I'm just not sure he's suited to our system.
