Spot on for me. He is a talented player who has probably tried too hard. One thing he has in abundance over Edin is desire and tenacity. He always has his head up, looks positive and is willing to have a go at the man in front of him. Yes he will be sore right now, but I would want him to knuckle down, prove his worth and be here next season.
Absolutely agree.
Anyone can see the enthusiasm when he takes to the field and its understandable that his first sign of dissatisfaction have come after being effectively put behind Dzeko in the pecking order.
They train together every day and Jovetic will probably feel (with good justification) that's he's a more talented footballer than Dzeko, but I see the decision that Pellegrini has taken as a choice between going with 2 out and out strikers for the balance of the CL campaign in Aguero and Bony or with 3 including Dzeko. Yes, Jovetic can play as an out and out striker, but he's best playing just off the main forward and providing the link between attack and midfield.
If there was a position we could survive with one less player it would have been attacking midfield. After what happened over the festive period, MP probably didn't want to take the risk and go with just 2 specialist strikers which I can accept and hopefully Jovetic can too. I just hope this has been explained to Jovetic and it wouldn't do us any harm if the club made a specific statement to that fact and backed it up by increasing Stevan's playing time on merit in the Premier League to compensate and appease him.
