I'd actually be fucking pissed if keeping Yaya meant not getting Pogba or Koke or whoever.

Same. People are clinging to that amazing season he had as a reason to keep him but we will never ever have a Yaya that motivated ever again. He's got older he's got slower he clearly hasn't been arsed at all this season. Get him sold, thank him for his amazing service during his time here and replace him with one of the above.

Have to agree. Many think next year the old Yaya will rock up, but little evidence he has the desire to.

Ever thought about getting any one of the above and still keeping Yaya and playing him exactly where Lampard started in our last run of games? 'Yaya will never get motivated ever again'. Really? You must be God for anyone to make a fact out of this statement.

There are Gods on here saying all he needs is a rest and then he will be back firing on all cylinders.

Maybe I'm not one of them but common sense suggests that playing him further foward the way Lampard has been deployed of late or as the most advanced in a midfield three would cover his weaknesses to a great extent whilst affording us the opportunity to benefit from his attacking abilities, which are ernomous and prettydifficult to get in a single player. Lampard had a good season with us but it may not have been so if he was a CM in a midfield two in our current squad and you only need to look at our game against Arsenal where he was eased at halftime to agree to this.

I'd rather keep him if he's not worth cashing in on, providing he bucks up his attitude and "stay-or-go" antics.
He will be good to keep around the periphery of the first team, in such a way Lampard was used with us this departing season.

I will however be very concerned if the fact he is increasingly looking like staying put, is because we are not confident in going out and start building for life without him. We need to move regardless of Yaya's stance, because life without him will come sooner, rather than later.

I would say this about any player. We are aspiring to be the best in Europe, we should not have to be covering up or accommodating someones weaknesses dont you think?

True! Yes we should and we will but we must do so with some level of discretion

Pirlo, who is not one of the best of tacklers in the game, is in the finals of the UCL right now and Juve had enough sense to 'cover his weaknesses' by not leaving him to himself but giving him hardworking partners like Marchisio, Pogba and Vidal because they did something that a lot of folks on here fail to do: recognized and harnessed his special talent.
