Yet again.....he should not have been paired up with Fernando,that is not his position,add that to the fact we were missing Silva made the decision all the more bizarre.

This was an ideal opportunity to play him behind the strikers with the Ferns holding the midfield.No,he didn't have his best game and,yes,he was a petulant fucker,however,i also thought the boss,once again,hung him out to dry somewhat.

4-4-2 with YaYa in the defensive minded 2 requires the following:
[1] YaYa to defend.
[2] When he's up the pitch then someone needs to fill in behind him.

4-2-3-1 with YaYa as one of the 2 didn't work for Mancini for similar reasons.

I just do not understand how two supposed top class managers Mancini now Pellegrini cannot see what needs to be done. i.e. Keep him forward and only have him picking up runners from deep.

Great goal by him tonight BTW and some good attacking play. Just don't mention the defending and him losing his rag.

Yaya has had the highest dip in performance from last year but he's not alone. Zab, Fernandinho, Dzeko, Nasri, Navas and dare I say it Kompany havent hot the heights of last year. I think only Milner Sergio and silva can say they have matched or bettered their performance.

Yaya Toure isn't as fit as he was because he doesn't seem able to make those trademark runs from deep.

Contrary to BlueAnorak I think he's one of our better players at the moment and I think he's better playing from deep - but we're missing those runs which breaks up a teams back 4, or midfield lines. I'm sure that's just fitness. It will come

whether its his brother, the summer farce, ongoing racism or whatever - tonight showed exactly where his head is at - all over the place

yes he's trying and he's going to have the odd good game but the total inconsistency, coupled with moments of madness like tonight proves things aren't ok with him

i think it's having a big impact in the dressing room - sort the yaya situation and we sort the club

Sorry Yaya isn;t at his best but he still contributes more than most in this team - watch the highlights against the rags he runs the show.

He is the go to man when we have possesion - it's not his fault that navas can't beat a man.

The manager knows what Yaya is about and his defensive contribution in all games not just Europe, but he continues to play 442 in Europe when even the poorer opposition can play a bit. This makes yaya look worse than normal and kills our midfield.

So who is to blame yaya doing what he does week in week or the manager not adapting to the opposition?

There's just no balance to that, you cannot have one player doing all the defending, it just doesn't work. A two man midfield, where one of them does nothing defensively, they are supposed to work together as a team. I cannot believe we actually play this way.

When we played 3 in central mid and yaya it license to roam forward he dominated.

Play this every game Pellegrini for fuck sake!!
