Maybe he only will start to play well after he gets that new contract and ambassador role?

Feel kind of stupid how I thought that Africa-Cup is over, Yaya+Bony comes back and gives us some extra power. Their confidence/morale could have been high given they won Africa Cup. They hardly added anything since they came back. Not like others did better in the same time.

He's being asked to play an intense, box-to-box role when his legs are now going. He's a brilliant conductor, we should use him like Pirlo or Alonso now, just sat at the base of a midfield three, with two players that can get up and down next to him, or at least one, and then Silva/Nasri further ahead.

He didnt have as bad a game as people are saying as most of our chances were created by him...

I think he missed Nasri alongside him last night, hopefully he is back for Wed..

We will rue the day we refused big money for him. Yes a fantastic player on his day and still arguably our most influential player but it was time to move on last summer and replace.

No doubt gone this summer for relative peanuts which will hurt even more.

He's playing like a 45 year old in a charity match. So laboured, so slow of thought and just destroying any chance of us having any tempo. The team is built around him, he dictates the pace of the game, but he's playing at an agonisingly slow pace. We all know that he has essentially given up on defending or pressing, but now with the ball he just grinds to a halt, stops the ball and starts slowly looking around for someone to pass the ball to, like he's playing netball and he's not allowed to move. He's taking far too long to move the ball on, there is no snap at all.

If there is any kind of unrest within the squad, I'd be willing to bet both my nuts Yaya was in the center of it. On his day he is world class, but far too often he is not, and his age/recent regression doesn't exactly speak for a bright future.
Sell him this summer.

Utd played the formation we should have been doing most of the season (4-1-4-1/4-1-2-2-1)

Yaya is still a fantastic player on the ball. He has never been great out of possession and he's certainly not going to be getting any better. Given that he has been such an important player for the club you would think we'd tweak the system to fit. We've had the 2 ferns at the club to allow it. Instead we've kept him in a 2. It beggars belief, it really does.

He should not be sold. We should be signing a top class DM and a mobile CM to partner him and allow him the freedom to break forward in support of the striker, as Fellaini did today.

this issue is becoming more and more apparent. yaya no longer seems to have the legs to be occasionally box to box.

if we want to manage the transition period it would make sense to keep Yaya, but if he is among those who are responsible for the on field malaise then we should cash in on him while we can
