Rat boy neville has only confimed what some of us have been saying on here for a while....you cant play Yaya as one of a two in the middle with defensive reposibilities......He tried last night but he just couldnt physically keep up.

There are three possible ways forward

1....sell him

2..play him as the number 10 with a 4 man midfield behind him

3...use him in a more limited capaciy (as i think Tolm suggested a few pages back) - but would he want to do that - i doubt it

I have no biterness towards Yaya at all....He has been a fantastic servent to the club and has been a huge part in bringing all the success we have had over the last few years...he pretty much dragged us over the line in the second half of last season. But age has got to him and he just cant manage it anymore....even on one of his runs yesterday which is the first time ive seen him attempt it this season he was halted and that is very rare. I think yaya knows it as well.

I certainly dont hold with the theory that he doesnt care...he has too much pride for that and its just a phrase thrown around by the media to try and create drama and ill feelings (they have single handedly turned the whole of football into a soap opera and like the shit that is eastenders etc they are fueled by negative storylines and this is an example of how they try to do it)

The man goes down for me as an absolute legend and as one of the top few players Ive ever had the joy to watch live and for city (I started watching in the early 80's)......

Could we give him some sort of ambassador role in the future (espeically with the contuned growth of football in Africa and his standing in that particular continent being on a par with Viera's in Europe)...it would be a huge thing to have Yaya doing the recruiting from the african countries in the future if he wanted to.

1. looks like the most likely option

2. silva, jovetic are far better in this role

3.yaya ego wont allow it will destroy the dresssing room

buy barkley , kevin be buyrne , pogba/koke sell yaya

ambasador role for yaya is okay only if he tells his **** of a agent to fook off

Shades of Ronaldinho here.

I personally want him to stay as I think he's a top quality player but if I was a betting man, I'd say he's already gone and his replacement is already lined up

The problem with Toure is the position we're playing him in (allied to his general lack of work rate). Playing him in a 2 man central midfield, with defensive responsibilities, plays to all his weaknesses, and none of his strenghts. He needs to be allowed to drive forward, command possession, and rely upon defensive midfielders behind him. Personally, at half time, against Barca I'd have dragged Nasri, brought on Fernando to partner Fernandinho, and given Toure more attacking license. We need to get him into areas where he can cause the opposition damage, and not us!

Where have all the sycophantic Yaya fans gone????? the ones that say he's our best player and look at our record when he doesn't play???

1) He's been average at best all season

2) Even when he was powering past people and scoring goals last season he was still a liability when we didn't have possession in big games, defensively he's woeful in open play and from set pieces where he should be an asset given his size he's also pretty poor. The good stuff he did going forward last season and it was very very good I'll agree masked the defensive deficiencies ....

3) So what is the problem, why does he NOT bust a gut to get back when we lose possession, surely that's a minimum requirement for a top professional footballer? ...
- Is he carrying an injury (ehh no co he never has made much of an effort to track back period)
- Is he not fit enough, well he f*cking should be given the money he gets paid
- If non of the above then it either means he just can be arsed or he thinks he's above some hard graft for the team cause .... THE BLOCKE IS A PRIMA DONNA MY FRIENDS ... ALWAYS HAS BEEN.... We should have shipped him out last summer when he started that pathetic bullsg*t about cake or something, Bet we could have got some decent money but since he's been average this season for us and the Ivory Coast in ACON he'll be worth about two bob come summer ......

Exeter Blue I am here said:
Yup, the game looked up for Ya Ya last night, never more so than when he got free down the right hand side in the 2nd half, in full gallop, only to be overhauled before then falling down pathetically in search of a free kick. In short his legs have gone. We maybe able to play him at home to West Ham or Villa, but in games where a modicum of defensive duty is required, he's a busted flush. Why Pellegrini can't grasp this simple fact is beyond the wit of man. It was like having 10 men last night, til he was eventually put out of his misery. One of the greatest players we've ever had at City, but his time's up

Completely disagree. You do not lose you legs in a 3 month span. He was fine in May. He has been shit since August. Again, your legs don't go in three months. Your attitude certainly can, however.

Why should he have to bust a gut in defense? Because he's big and black? He's in the Xavi, Lampard, Gerrard, Fabregas, Pirlo, Scholes mold. He's obviously a liability in defense so get the players we need to protect him so he can do what he does best.
