He has played a key role in our recent success but Barcelona knew what they were doing when they sold him to City.

What a ridiculous post, he's been essential and the driving force behind our success, yes he's regressed but ffs, short memories. Pellegrini got it absolutely wrong tonight, it's been apparent since our champions league exposure 2/3 seasons ago that he is unable to play in a midfield two in Europe, manuel shouldn't be ignored in this, he's seen how we come up short when persisting with him in that role in Europe!!

It isn't at all. He and his agent pulled a similar stunt at Barcelona and if they wanted to keep him they could of.

He is essentially a number 10, and a very good one. Never has Yaya impacted a game defensively for City and he never will. Time and time again this two man midfield gets shown up in Europe.

It's not just in Europe though is it?

Re: Yaya?

Very talented, lazy and prone to lapses in concentration. In the right hands, he's a world beater but he plays in a system that exposes his flaws when we most require his strengths.

Re: Yaya?

Am I alone in wanting to Expect more from him!!!!!!!?

The lazy gitt has been so ponderous he's bordering on catatonic!!

This time last year he'd scored 4 goals and had 3 assists in the prem and had scored in the champs league with 1 assist.

This year the mard bastard hasn't covered more than 5 yards. I know he's had some horrendously tragic news regarding his brother, but if that's what is effecting him, drop him. Personally I think it's his own attitude.

No, you are not alone.

Re: Yaya?

why does pellers persevere with yaya in his current form ? Is it a contract issue , when fit he has to play the full 90 minutes ? Anybody with half a football brain must see , he needs taking out of the squad , the exertions of the world cup and his personal issues are definitely affecting him , send him to the caribbean with a fitness coach for a couple of weeks , because we want the real yaya back

Re: Yaya?

Is he really trying to force City into a corner with his summer antics and poor showings so far this season, it maybe that his poor efforts so far this season are to force City into looking for buyers for him and then he gets a new signing on fee elsewhere and also scoops a lovely loyalty bonus from us as he hasnt requested a transfer just worked his way towards one. Just a thought.

Definitely not alone. He looked a little better against Hull but tonight was woeful. We had to sacrifice a striker because he would not move. The only thing of note was one tackle in the second half. Given the interview on Football Focus where he said he wanted to win the CL with City he does not show much sign on the pitch. Is it retribution for not getting a move / new contract in the summer. Very dissappointing tonight.

Re: Yaya?

I just wish in top games we would go with a midfield three, the rest then sorts itself out. Another lacklustre display in Europe. I'm hoping at some stage we snap out of this daydream that we seem to have got caught up in. Come on City, lets rectify the defeat at Villa we suffered last season this coming Saturday!!
