This must be you trying to wind a few fans up?

The 2 most important moments of last nights game had Yaya heavily involved. We would be lost without him in my opinion.

If that is him causing more problems than solving then I hope he continues to cause us problems.

No opinion about it, we would have lost, he created both our goals, without him it would have been 0-1.

Spot on.Some of the opinions on here are laughable. He's still one of our most important and very best players !

Fucking hell, top wumming!

Probably really believes it mate, which is more worrying than a bit of wumming, now where's that skag gone?

Ah you lot are funny. I'll remind you that, according to the rules of the game, we are allowed to field someone else if Yaya doesn't play. Bit of a daft argument, isn't it? "Without him we wouldn't have won", well yes, if at that moment in time he evaporated into thin air and we weren't allowed a substitution, but that's not how it works.

You always make concessions to accommodate players - None are 100% perfect. Spanish Dave doesn't contribute as much defensively as Navas, for example, but we concede this because of what else he brings to the team. We have always had to make the concession about Yaya not getting about the pitch unless he fancies it. Many on here have been discussing this most specifically against the backdrop of our limited success in Europe. Until now we've accepted this because the man is often a monster at controlling possession in the middle, especially domestically. He can rifle one into the top corner from a set piece and doesn't take a terrible penalty either, but this will not go on forever. Plenty wanted a solid Yaya replacement in the summer, myself included; This would have been the perfect season to gently phase him out allowing him to play 45 minutes at full pace, or at least 90 minutes once a week - He is not a twice 90 minute a week player, and even at his best for us arguably never was. Case in point, Yaya used to enjoy nothing more than taking the piss out of the rags - He couldn't do that now even if he wanted too.

Please don't play him in CAM anymore just to accommodate him in the team..Should have been on the bench but then I'm not sure he's ever been on the bench in the premier league?(when fully fit)

I suppose the fear is he throws a wobbly if we drop him.

Whilst he may be coming towards the end of his career with us, let us remember that he has been the catalyst for our success over the years. We owe him everything. If only he was younger..... Need to try and get Pogba in the summer.

It's looking increasingly likely that we're better off without Yaya in the team. Play him in a two and he doesn't defend, leaves us a man down in that regard as he doesn't press and when the opponent presses him and leaves him with little space and time on the ball he'll likely lose the ball.

Play him in the #10 role and he doesn't provide any forward runs beyond the striker because he has zero mobility or quickness. He also doesn't press again so gives their defenders and deeper midfielders time to hold the ball and pick a pass.
