His half-arsed pressing was just plain weird. It'd take him up to the half way line where they would just waltz on by him leaving him out of position and he would virtually come to a stand still while the game passed him by.

I think he's ok sitting deeper against most teams but as a 10 that really didn't work.

I'd agree with that. He keeps our play ticking over but he needs to play deeper (as he normally does) with the game in front of him.

Same here, Yaya for me will be an impact sub from next season onwards, however with the possibility ofPep coming in, he may try Yaya in the role Alonso plays. Time to unsettle Veratti.

Agreed, you almost need Fernando alongside him and Fernandinho ahead of him in a midfield 3, let the lad dictate play from deep.He was useless in that #10 role today but I can see why MP tried it - the Yaya of a couple of years ago would have beasted that rag defence. Time to start taking into account the lads limitations.

I don't see why he can't sit deeper with Fernandinho plus Fernando or Delph or A.N. Other providing the legs, breaking from midfield etc with any two of Sterling, DeBruyne Silva, Navas Nasri behind Aguero, at least in big games.

Then he can break forward or the Ferns can, when it suits, & we still have cover, also for tge fullbacks to go forward.

It was so obviously a problem v Seville having a man short. It's ok v Bournemouth or Newcastle at home but not v better teams.

That straight out run he had for the ball against Phil Jones was quite telling. Jones comfortably kept up with him.

You feel two seasons ago Yaya would have swatted him aside.
