How can you say we controlled that game?

Possession isn't control. Leicester allowed us to keep possession on the halfway line because we weren't a threat, Yaya couldn't get any of our attacking quartet on the ball in good positions because he no longer drives forward and commits midfielders. In years gone by he would have driven forward into the space Leicester allowed us, which in turn forces a defender or midfielder to come out of position, giving the attacking players space to move into.

Because I thought we did pretty much control it. As we controlled games against Chelsea at home and Spurs away (funnily enough until Toure went off and then we pretty much fell apart). We usually look a much better team with Toure than without. He's a quality player that we are lucky to have.

This.....Yaya has the ability only a few have and that is to change a game, win it for us.,He has scored some very important goals for us as did Dzeko. Both have been battered on here with a lack of recognition to what they have given us...
Tilting at windmills

Look at the important goals he's scored.
So of the things people say about him are a joke

The past few weeks have been a prime example..

His goals against Watford and Swansea have earned us 6 points, if he hadnt played in any of those games ( like some on here wish for ) where would be be in the league ?

He's a luxury player these days. But what a luxury!

He needs others to do the running for him and has undoubtedly lost a yard of pace. I thought he was poor overall yesterday and awful against Arsenal until the last 15 mins.

The decision we have to make is whether his match winning ability is worth carrying him as a passenger for long periods. I think the only way to get the best out of him is playing Fernadinho, Fernando and Delph behind him. That would mean sacrificing two of Silva, KDB and Sterling. How can we justify that?

If Pep comes in Yaya is a gonner. Been one of the most significant players in a successful era but you have to move on at the right time. One of GPC's great strengths was knowing when a star's time was up.

I think it would work well enough with Toure, Fernandinho and Delph for some games. No need for Fernando as well. Then 2 of Silva, Navas, Sterling and KDB with Aguero.

Not convinced he would be a gonner under Guardialoa either though he may well have a reduced role.

Bollocks, he got rid of most "stars" for going against his authority (Stam, Keane, Beckham). And he kept a good few who had long since declined as long as they toed the line (Giggs, Scholes, Ferdinand).

Never thought of that. Maybe you are right.

Still think to be really successful whoever is our manager will have to make a big and possibly unpopular decision fairly soon. We have players who have been fantastic for us who probably won't settle for a reduced role but may well have to if they are to remain at the club.

Neither am I, his role will be reduced anyway as he ages, but I think it will also be revised, most good technical players don't lose it, they just lose their legs, but they can still do the good stuff (see Gareth Barry today for Everton), Yaya reads the game too well to be just dismissed, he'll just be used less, and he provides options going both ways, whether we need something late on, or need experience to close a game out.

Even though its off topic, quite correct, and all those you named are spot on, he even brought a faded Scholes back because they were in the shit, and he did nothing much to help their cause. The whole irony is that he f**ked united up more than Moyes or LVG will ever do, and their muppet supporters will never accept it.

You think he'll be happy sat on the bench every other week? It's the perfect scenario for us but I just can't see it.
