But maybe that's cos they are just doing the roles they are told to perform? When we play a midfield 2 it's Dinho's job to mop up for Yaya and win the ball back and it's Yaya's job to get the ball forward and especially when we play a midfield 3 its the 2's job to win the ball and we expect Yaya to contribute more in attack. I'd fully back Dinho to be able to do Yaya's job if he was given the chance to as I have seen before how amazing he can be when he goes forward but it seems like he is told to stay back cos of Yaya's inability to close players down or chase after them.
Probably, but we all know there is more to the modern midfielder needed now than one job. If he sees that Yaya is having one of his "walking in tar" days, he has to take responsbility and move the ball. He doesn't. I can't believe he's directly told not to pass the ball forwards and only Yaya can do it.
He has to do more, so does Delph, and so does Fernando.
It's too easy to say, well, my job is to clean up, not my fault. He might find he's better at Yaya's job than Yaya now.
