I agree that the team is unbalanced at the moment. But I don't think taking him out of the team will improve us because the quality is just not there elsewhere in the squad.

As for the second leg I would definitely start him.

But again, my original point was not whether he should be in the team or not , I respect that opinions are split on that. But it's the dogs abuse from some blues on here that I hate

I agree actual abuse is not on, he is being hung out to dry by the manager, either build a team around him or give him a rest, to do neither is shocking management

But maybe that's cos they are just doing the roles they are told to perform? When we play a midfield 2 it's Dinho's job to mop up for Yaya and win the ball back and it's Yaya's job to get the ball forward and especially when we play a midfield 3 its the 2's job to win the ball and we expect Yaya to contribute more in attack. I'd fully back Dinho to be able to do Yaya's job if he was given the chance to as I have seen before how amazing he can be when he goes forward but it seems like he is told to stay back cos of Yaya's inability to close players down or chase after them.
But we are only assuming this is the role of Delph and Fernandinho because they show so little when we do have the ball in my opinion.

Instead, because neither Delph or Fernandinho can pivot and play a ball into the final third, Yaya has to drop in and take the ball, often with his back to the opposition, often with a double press on him.

What are you on about? The team is built around him hence why Silva and Kev had to play out of position to accommodate him.

Legs have gone, off the pace tonight needs to managed correctly one game a week would be a start.

I very rarely criticise city players but yaya is a spent force! It was like watching an old man picked out of the crowd at times. He still has a great touch and pass in him but he is so laboured in everything he does now. He should of come off but he seems to be untouchable, got to move him on this summer.

We have built a team around him. 2 seasons that made sense. Now it doesn't. It's the source of our current problems because the other talented players in our team are being isolated and we're not taking advantage of other players in the quad who could make an impact when others are in poor form.

Why do you think he is playing in front of the back 4, and why do we play with 1 central striker. These systems have evolved to keep Toure in the team. The time has come to play him intelligently

Don't start him in a high intensity semi-final. use him as a sub, and then start him and make him Captain at Norwich. These are very obvious points. What's depressing is that I have no faith that the manager will reassess

Much as i appreciate yaya's contribution to the rise of MCFC , MP needs to try playing a few games without the big man in the side , he slows down our attacks , we become slow and lethargic and opposition teams are getting players behind the ball , parking the bus , whilst we play tippy tappy in midfield . We have to speed our game up , start on the front foot and start pressing the opposition , and that is not yaya's game , leave him out , let him get fully fit for the run-in.
He's never going to get fully-fit. he had the summer to do that. He wasted last season, like many of our players, and that could have been a great one for him.

We should be picking and choosing our games. We are a top side with ambitions of winning more trophies. Yet we are using the player really badly.

Fernandinho is half decent and can usually quickly move the ball on with a decent degree of accuracy. I'm not convinced he can pivot with the ball and bring other people into play. He doesn't have anywhere near the passing brain or speed of thought or vision of Toure. He still has a lot more to draw on than he is currently showing. My issue with him is that most of his great games stem from his tenacity and ability to read the game and make interceptions. He rarely excels in the attacking side of his game despite having fairly rounded footballing ability.

Delph just isn't reliable in possession. His speed of thought isn't great, nor is his decision making. The Arsenal game is a an example of this when he inexcusably played the ball back to Mangala instead of rolling a ten yard pass into the feet of Fernandinho, who was in acres of space. He's a good standard Premier League player who would struggle to get regular games anywhere half decent.

Once again, Yaya was poor tonight, but no poorer than everybody else and the calls to drop him are utterly stupid considering his replacements or positional team mates are of lesser quality - especially when in possession.

Fernandinho and Delph are both more than capable in possession, both have the energy to make runs beyond the strikers and both can win possession back high up the pitch and have the pace to start counter attacks.

Play Iheanacho and Aguero in a 442 with Silva and De Bruyne in midfield. Or Sterlinga nd Aguero up front. there are loads of options in a squad of this quality. None will happen.
Silva
You've obviously forgotten the HUGE disrespect he's showed to our club, our owner over successive transfer windows. Being a complete wanker is acceptable when you are delivering on the pitch, but once you are not...

Looked at some of your other posts. Yaya is not the only coming in for some bad language from you is he?
Yaya has given me some of my best moments as a fan (Wembley, Newcastle etc)
