which actually got worse when Delph came on so why was that? For me it's more that the manager just can't organise them and the team as a whole are too lazy in closing down especially from the front with Bony being the chief culprit.

I thought the worst at pressing today was De Bruyne. Should have been darting around like a Jack Russell with a firework up its arse, given that he was only out there for about 25 minutes, but he ambled about all round shouldered and let Swansea players walk past him. Very fine attacking player, but does fuck all from a defensive standpoint and we couldn't afford that today

I'm glad someone else noticed this.

Great player and the amount of times he has got us out of the shit over the years is well documented and he did it again today. Miss the link up play when he is not in the side. Obviously we need to start planning for his succession but at the moment we have nobody to replace him.
i can moan about his shortcomings all day long but I am a realist enough to see that "at the moment we have nobody to replace him"

Weird how we still have that 'problem' when he doesn't play though. Vs Spurs and Vs Stoke he didn't even play. It's a team problem and always has been. We just don't work hard collectively without the ball.

And the reason he isn't a squad player is because he's ten times the player of Delph and the absolutely dreadful Fernando.

Corrected for you

It'd be churlish to suggest that YaYa will be looked upon as anything but a club legend. Up there with the very best to have pulled on a blue shirt. That's not to say we can't discuss his shortcomings in the here and now, of which there are a couple.
We all want to see a fit and roaring Toure tearing the league up but I think we have to accept its going to be on a far less regular basis - which goes back to managing his game time correctly.

Been excellent in the last few games he has played, drove us forward yesterday and 2nd half v Borussia, couple of trademark surging runs as well suggests he is very much still a key City player.
