Haha I read earlier that Aubameyang had won & my first thought was that Yaya would probably have a nice rant about that. Low and behold I get back & he's done just that in what appears a fairly ungracious way.

I think you need a level of arrogance to be one of the best in the world, unfortunately Yaya isn't very good at keeping it hidden & it can quite easily make him quite unlikable. Always said I've disliked his attitude (on the pitch at times also), even if I think he's been a fantastic player for us.

He'll be gone sooner or later & I've no doubt we'll miss him & have people wishing he was back with us so I'm just going to enjoy his goals while they last, but I certainly won't miss him nearly as much as some of our other legends unfortunately.

i'm a but worried for Yaya. One of the greatest players the club has ever had, and given us some truly magical moments. I'm worried his career will come to an end with us when he's not playing at his best. Hope he turns this little slump around.

always a god to me

Trade off?
There's literally nothing to trade off
The idle bastard wanders round the park doing sweet fuck all and we're supposed to be thankful when he scores the odd good goal?
He can get to fuck he's an utter disgrace
Bizarre post!

He's hung out to dry by the manager at times. He's overweight and underfit. But who is monitoring his diet and fitness? Then knowing these things, he's asked to play in a midfield two numerous times a month against anything from a midfield three to a midfield five. It makes him look worse than he is.

Plus when you watch our game back against Stoke (watch the 90minutes back from that game) and see that we had the exact same problems with Fernandinho and Fernando as our midfield two as we do when Yaya is in there. Both Ferns looked like lazy cunts in that game but they aren't, all it is is that they were outnumbered!

With Yaya it looks so much worse because even at his fittest between 2008-2012 he was very slow off the mark and on the turn. Now when he's older fatter and less fit, it's highlighted even more.

We've been in shit form for a while and you can tell in the comments. Nearly every thread is overflowing with vitriol, and people seem very eager to start fights with each other over nothing.

Exactly, I don't mind if fans get upset, footballs full of mixed emotions but there's a limit and slagging him off is way above it imo

If the job is to put a shift in and help neutralise the opponent's more offensive minded midfielders then yes. If it's to score world class goals at important times then no.

That's the trade off we've had for a while and it's one that we don't seem to be getting right this season.

Edit: read that as Delph. Fernando can stay sat down.

Delph is there for the energy he was never brought in to do a job offensively, defensively he'll do a better job but that's not exactly yayas attributes is it

With any luck he'll retire.

His argument that Africa should reward the winner of its own Championships presupposes that he was the architect of that win. I don't remember him having a great tournament. No more so that any other Ivory Coast player.

We all know he is immensely talented, but zero appetite for the game hence he's finished at the age of 32 which is no age at all even allowing for his huge frame.
