I've been saying similar for a few seasons,the squad is very unbalanced and lacks adaptability/options - Mancini has done little to address this as he is stubborn with his system.

Poor purchases and excessive,lucrative contracts have done nothing for our squad size and wage bill.

Hopefully this fella will now begin sorting our shit out.

Will be interesting to see whether who we sell (and who we buy) is an indication of Pep taking over, but 2+2 as in Barca bosses doesn't always = 4 as in Pep.

Wouldn't be surprised...

4 strikers is too much IMO...need 1 less and 1 more attacking midfielder.

Look at our midfielders....Yaya, Barry, Milner, Garcia, Rodwell....physically strong players but many of them are just so slow and not a single proper passer there.

Agree, we keep buyin dumper trucks when we really need Ferraris. I think Milner's got a great passing range though (when he's not stuck out on the chuffin wing!)

I agree with this.

We have too many players - too many average ones as well - and it is causing Mancini to not know his best team.

4 top strikers is ridiculous as well, strikers need to play to gain form and create personal partnerships, strikers want to get to game day and know full well thay they will be starting, not worrying if he is going to benched even if he scored a hattrick a week before.

We need continuity.

Milner, if played centrally, could for us be what Lampard was for Chelsea for years. I would understand him if he wanted to move on in order to get more playing time, but I do hope he stays and that he gets the chance to play more regularly.

I said this already in the Marwood last day of window thread. We lack an out and out CM as a passer and third runner and got shot down so its refreshing to hear others and board say the same.

We could accrue a heap from a clear out. Bring in top players capable of starting eleven places. Fill in gaps with youth.

Obviously all those who bloat the wage bill will be gone. The real question is are we going to sell current squad players? Ones that come to mind are Barry, Lescott, Milner, Kolorav, Tevez, Dzeko, or Ballotelli. I can see some of these players leaving for whatever reason, age, not enough game time, etc. Tevez could leave when his contract expires, Dzeko or Balo could be sold to raise funds for whatever buys we are going to make. Barry could be getting too old, though last year he was instrumental for us winning the league. Milner and Kolorav could decied they want more game time and leave. Lescott is the least likely to leave, he's the perfect backup to Nastasić.

All in all(too long didn't read) it's obvious who's going to leave, if they just bloat the wage bill, however it is difficult to tell who will leave if they are active squad players.

Not saying all these will leave but Dzeko is almost certain to leave. Sinclair, Boyata, Pants and Kolarov may want more playing time so I could see each of them leaving. I think Lescott will stay as a squad player but if a good offer comes in you never know. Then theres Balotelli personally im hoping we get a big money offer from someone like PSG and we can get rid but Mancini loves so you just don't know.

Balo is reported as excited by his potential transfer to AC Milan in Jan. The deal is initially on loan until June with an option to buy at the end of season.

No way would City ever agree to this. Surely we're not that stupid.
